Funds in an amount equalling more than 10% of the original purchase price were distributed back to the Santiago Family. Another amount has been put in a fund for the future purchase of a water pump in the town.

A percentage of the funds were distributed to the Lopez family, a percentage went to travel costs for members of the community to attend events, and a percentage went to a fund used for the 5to Encuentro Estatal in Oaxaca.
